BookLust

by Debbie on March 22, 2005

I recently came across BookLust, the blog of Patricia Storms. While Patricia is an illustrator and graphic designer by trade, she is also a self-confessed bibliophile, and this is evident in her posts. Fun and informative blog.

Obituary: SF author Andre Norton

by Debbie on March 18, 2005

One of my favourite sf/fantasy authors, Andre Norton, has died at age 93. I first began reading Norton when I was a child; I remember ordering her books through our school book club and waiting eagerly for each shipment. More info: thebookstandard.com

BookDoc

by Debbie on March 16, 2005

I posted a link to Carol Henson’s BookDoc site, but had an extra carriage return that messed up the link. Here’s the correct URL, with apologies: www.bookdoc.blogspot.com.

I’ve mentioned The Purple Crayon before, but Underdown’s FAQ about children’s book writing bears mentioning again because it covers questions I’ve heard asked frequently about writing for children.

Writer’s Edge

by Debbie on March 10, 2005

Writer’s Edge tagline excerpt: “It’s better than talking to the television.” :-) Created by Georganna Hancock, the site is a blog packed with news of interest to writers and readers, quotes, and fascinating tidbits about the English language. I’ve bookmarked this site and plan to check it regularly in the future. Thanks for the heads-up, Georganna!

Househunting success!

by Debbie on March 8, 2005

Woohoo, finally found a house! Selling our condo and househunting has been enormously time-consuming, hence the lack of Inkygirl updates since December. Back to our regular schedule now, at least until we move in May. :-) Thanks for your patience, everyone.
