I recently came across a blog called Writer Mama: How To Raise A Writing Career Alongside Your Kids. Lots of inspirational info here, plus Christina Katz has also written a book with the same name. The description from Amazon:

“This book gives stay-at-home moms the encouragement and advice they need to create a successful writing career while raising their children. It covers everything from getting started and finding ideas to actually finding time to do the work. With advice on how to network and form a business and also instruction on crafting fiction, nonfiction and children’s writing, this book covers everything a writer mama needs to succeed at her second job.”

I haven’t read the book myself, but it looks intriguing; if I had kids, I’d be ordering this title for sure.

    Hi Debbie,
This comic is SO great. I’ve linked back to it in my blog on Monday, November 12th. And your great holiday gift list. I really appreciate it because I won’t have time to do one this year since I’m busy with book two for Writer’s Digest. I’ll be sure people who get my zines know about the list too. Keep up the good work diverting us from our work!
    Happy holidays!

The cartoon pictured above is an accurate portrayal of my life, although cartoon mom does a much better job at hiding her frustration!

I am on Section III of Writer Mama, and it’s definitely a book I will keep at my finger tips.

That was great! One thing I learned was how to type one-handed while nursing my daughter at the same time! I am so getting that book…once we recover from the $500.00 vet bill for our cat’s eye infection (well, there was more to it than that, but there always is, isn’t there?). Okay, I am just finding more ways to procrastinate on my NaNo novel!
    Thanks!
