Book-in-a-Week

by Inkygirl on February 27, 2007

The main purpose of Book-in-a-Week (BIW) is to encourage writing, but the online group also exchanges information, publishing news and kudos. BIW occurs once a month; participants decide on their own goals and submit them to the list the week prior to BIW. “Some members actually finish a book in one week and for others the only time they write is during BIW, thereby giving BIW a double meaning.”

Members include published as well as unpublished writers, and the site was listed in Writer’s Digest 101 Top Web sites of 2006. There’s even a discussion forum as well as a chat room.

For more info, see http://www.book-in-a-week.com/.

I’ve been part of BIW for years. Back when I started I had no idea what blitz drafting was. How things have changed! While I haven’t been one of those to get an entire novel written in a week, I have had totals of 100 pages or more occasionally.

I’ve also been a BIW member for years.
BIW is the write place to BIC HOK TAM (Butt In Chair, Hands On Keyboard, Typing Away Madly)!
It’s also the most encouraging and frienly community.

Best regards to all writeres everywhere!
