Launched last month, Slush Pile Reader is looking for writers. Interesting idea: writers submit their manuscripts and Web site readers vote on whether or not the book should be published. The site uses guidelines and recommendations from the “Model Trade Book Contract and Guide” from the Authors Guild as a basis for contracts.

My first Books/Lit post is up on blogTO, an interview with Denis McGrath. McGrath is a Toronto screenwriter whose writing credits include episodes of Blood Ties. McGrath worked at CityTV and Chum Television, and helped start Canada’s science fiction channel, Space: The Imagination Station. His blog, Dead Things ON Sticks, is an informative glimpse into television screenwriting.
If you have comments, I encourage you to comment at blogTO instead of here, thanks.
I’ve recently been hired by blogTO for their Books/Lit as well as Food sections, and am looking for Toronto writers to profile. If you’re a published writer living in the Toronto area willing to be interviewed, please post below with a URL or e-mail me with background info.
I’m especially interested in authors who have recently published or have soon-to-be-released works. Thanks!
