Above: Yes, this is a homemade CAKE(!). Not mine, sadly.
Okay, here’s a round-up of all the writerly gift posts so far:
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Archives: Gifts For Writers posts.
See my previous post for the list of prizewinners. Thank so much for all the holiday gift suggestions, everyone!
Several of you mentioned the gift of time in the form of doing chores and other tasks for a writer friend. For those of you who plan to use this idea, feel free to use the gift certificate I’ve created below. Just click on the image for a printer-ready 5″x7″ certificate:
And the last roundup of holiday gift ideas:
The Bibliophile’s Devotional by Hallie Ephron, $16.95 ISBN: 9781605501055. Suggested by Sal Towse.

“I must say, any one of those gifts would be amazing. But, if I had my way, the most perfect gift would be a Olivetti Valentine portable typewriter. I would give up the next ten birthdays for one of those. – Suggested by MLKabik.
An idea for those writers who get ideas in the shower is a scuba slate, or AquaNotes (waterproof paper). – Gwen Hernandez
“For those who want to write quickly, and take a break from the keyboard, I vote for the old fashioned fountain pen. You can sometimes find them in better paper stores or office supply stores. I like the ones with different coloured vials of ink.
If you’re ever suffering from a bit of writer’s block, or need a break, buy five funky postcards, find your fountain pen and write five short notes to friends you have not seen in a long time. Quick, fast, painless and gets the fingers moving! It’s a great warm-up exercise.
I never promised you wouldn’t have inky fingers.” – Suggested by Lesley Simpson.

Wow, very creative ideas. I wonder how much time it took to make that cake! :O
Delicous!
Love the cake! Are the black keys some kind of gummy drop?
Love the gift ideas, too. Thanks.
That is one cool-lookin’ cake. Takes me back to the days when I actually used a typewriter.
These are wonderful ideas, Debbie! Thank you. Craving for the cake, of course. Also spotted another item I feel I can’t live without. Where is Santa when we need him?
Great list. I wish I could have got here early so I could have added my own suggestions. Nevertheless, I will use some of the ones on here. The time saver is a great idea!
Cheers.
Wow. That cake puts my mediocre baking to shame.
And I absolutely love those AquaNotes.
