Restaurant review

Now that I’ve started writing some restaurant reviews, I’ve become more interested in food writing in general. blogTO prefers informally written pieces, but other venues may have other requirements.

Here are just a few of the online resources I found:

Don’t Bite The Hand That Feeds You: Ten Tips For Food Writers

Writing A Restaurant Review: from Schoolcraft College Writing Fellows.

Critiquing Restaurant Critics: from RestaurantReport.com

Get Started With Food Writing: from Squidoo.com

Writing a Restaurant Review in Ten Easy Steps: from Epinions.com

How to Write an Online Restaurant Review: from eHow

The perils of writing restaurant reviews: from Pinkmochi.com

While surfing for resources, I also came across Publicityhound.com’s tips on how restaurant owners should react to bad reviews, which I found interesting even though it wasn’t directly related to food writing.

I’m also starting to read more restaurant reviews and food writing online. If you know of others, please do post the URL below, thanks!

Megnut.com: Meg Hourihan’s food blog, has links to food writing pieces.

Mark Platt’s restaurant reviews: from New York Magazine.

Alice Feiring - In Vino Veritas: writes about wines (”I’m looking for the Leon Trotskys, the Philip Roths, the Chaucers and the Edith Whartons of the wine world. I want my wines to tell a good story.”)

Chocolate & Zuccini: a wonderful food blog! Clotilde Dusoulier just launched her book, Chocolate & Zucchini.
