I’ve had several people asking whether I’ll be doing comics for NaNoWriMo this year. Since the deadline was coming up, I asked Chris Baty just recently and he said that he wouldn’t be needing comics from me (he apologized for not letting me know sooner). So there’s your answer. 
I’ll be posting an interview with Chris on Inkygirl soon, by the way! And I’m curious…how many of you plan to participate in NaNoWriMo this year?

I am definitely participating! My little local NaNo group is gearing up (we consider October to be NaNo planning month–NaNoPlaMo)! This will be my fifth year and I’m always as excited as if it were my first time!
I am a little sad we won’t have your comics on the NaNo site, but I’ll still get my fix by coming here!

No way I would miss NaNo! It’s just too much fun to miss. I’m planning and having fun waiting in a way. It’s so close! And yet so far away…
I’ll be missing seeing your comics on the website as well, but at least we can still see them here, right?

I definately plan on trying Nanowrimo! But, as usual, other things always seem to get in the way, and I can see one or two things on the November horizon - nevertheless, I’m going to try to at least get halfway there! I’ve always come up very short in previous years due to university deadlines and the like

Debbie - will you be posting NaNo related comics here at all? They were always such an inspiration! I’m sad to hear there won’t be any at the NaNo site.

I’m definitely doing NaNoWriMo this year! I even have an outline started (unlike last year, where I got the word count done anyhow, but the editing…).

Alicia, you should contact the NaNoWriMo people if you’d like to see nano-related comics on that site this year; I’m not involved with NaNoWriMo this year.

JodiLee: I probably won’t be posting NaNoWriMo comics here because this isn’t a NaNoWriMo specific site (I haven’t decided if I’m going to be able to participate this year or not) so I suspect most of the users won’t be NaNoWriMo people. However, I figure NaNoWriMo people -will- get most of the general writing-related comics I post in Inkygirl.
If you’d like to see NaNoWriMo comics on the official site next year, feel free to let the NaNoWriMo people know.

Aww. That’s kind of sad. I love your comics, and love seeing them on the NaNo site. I will be participating again this year, even though I’m still looking desperately for a plot.
Maybe you could have one NaNo themed comic? Or something? ^_^

I already signed up for NaNo - as did my kids! They’re doing the Young Author’s program, and both are looking forward to it.
I will miss your NaNo comics, but as long as you creating comics here, I think I’ll survive. ;-D

I have been getting ready for this year’s NaNoWriMo since winning last year’s NaNoWriMo, which was my first participation in the novel in a month concept. It was a positive experience and I write every day that month, but I did not get a useful story out of it last year.
So far since NaNoWriMo 2007 I wrote two Palm programs to aid in writing. I wrote a NaNo word counter and a character attributes program to keep track of characters. Recently, I have been writing an outline (but not a true out line; just a list of scenes) and I have been filling in details about my casts of characters. Doing so has helped me come up with an antagonist.
I just can’t wait until November 1 when I can do Chapter One: word one.

I’m in this year- but I’m planning to do it as weird and nonsensical as possible. Basically, I just need to feel what it’s like to finish, and the only way I can do that is to plan on being an idiot. I’m starting out with Rabbitania (for those of you who love Miss Snark).

I’m going to try NaNoWriMo this year for the first time

I am planning on participating in NaNoWriMo again this year. I did it in 2006, but wasn’t able to last year.
I am going to miss your comics on the site this year, though! I can’t imagine why on earth they thought it was a good idea not to run them. Oh well — their loss!

Well, I’m already a participant.
I just reached 25,843K this morning. By tomorrow afternoon, I should be at that 30K mark. Not bad for the first week, really, but honestly, it could have been better.
