For those interested, Lazette Gifford (or Zette on the NaNoWriMo forums) is a published author, owner of Forward Motion for writers, and the editor for Vision: A Resource for Writers (which has published some of my comics).
She’s an extraordinarily productive writer and has some excellent advice about doing NaNoWriMo.

Thanks for the wonderful link. And the super cute comic.
I’m not doing NaNoWriMo, but when I saw the below random sentence on http://watchout4snakes.com/CreativityTools/RandomSentence/RandomSentence.aspx I thought of the people who work to achieve the word target
“The typewriter raves with a rigid target.”
cute comic, i’m having a little “word envy” myself probably cause im slacking!
I’m doing my best not to look at the progress of my writing buddies. I know I’m behind and I’m actually taking the advice of your cartoon guy and remembering that it’s supposed to be fun. I’m not worried about word count anymore. I’m just going to stick to writing everyday and see what happens.
Oh my. I did NOT expect that one. I scared the cats when I started making odd noises.
Alright Zette! She had a chat room full of people goading her on last night to hit the 50k marker. She’s an inspiration to a bunch of us.
This is my 5th year doing nanowrimo and Zette has always been a writer with the most incredible word count. She’s just incredibly speedy at slapping those words down. Go Zette–and no, I don’t compare myself to her. That would be foolish. very foolish.
Cute comic.
If you think Zette has a massive word count, look at Kateness’… She already has over 200000 words on Day 8!
LOL! I’ve been a Zette follower for a while myself. That woman’s a machine! Very cute comics!!
