Sadly I have fallen short two weeks in a row.
The week before last: 5,243
This past week: 5,514
I am going to do my best to improve this week :)

Doing Story a Day has given me that added bump to not only follow through on writing every day, but I'm writing more. If I added it all up right, I wrote a total of 30K, but one third of that was written on a short story in one day - so spread the rest around other shorts and my WIP. I'm really excited about the progress.

I'm pretty happy with my meager but steady 500 words a day for six days last week. I actually did write a bit more but I don't count the words above the minimum.

My story is shaping into something a bit strange, and now I'm really interested in where it will go.

The slow and steady gave me about 46,000 words so far.

Not much work over the weekend since we were camping but this has been a pretty good week - I broke the creative block I had had on working on the plot arcs for the characters by moving across to index cards for a bit. It was very productive, including some good work on character motivation.

I've made a start on the chapter summaries for the second draft. Should be starting the second draft next week now.

But the real breakthrough this week has been in realising that having the cats sleeping on our bed overnight has been doing my head in: I've been very congested for weeks and months now, and it has been making me very stupid in the mornings - indeed, I have been too stupid to realise how stupid I was. Having banished the cats I'm doing much much better, and am optimistic that I can actually work more consistently again.

I did great, I wrote more than a 1000 every day (except Sunday). But I´m sticking with the 500 challenge and see how week 2 works out for me. See you next Monday!

I'm new to reading this blog but am very excited to find this wordcount challenge--something I really need right now. Looking forward to working towards my goals in the weeks ahead!

Since last week, I've started the 6000 words per week and last week I wrote 6200 and I hope to get the 6K tonight!

It's very challenging and I hope to have the 1st draft done for August.

Talk later!

I'm new today, and wrote 718 words today. I love this idea and hope i can stick to it.
